International. Philips Lighting has announced the digitalization of its professional lighting solutions tariff, constituting the first digital tariff in the lighting sector. In parallel, Philips Lighting has launched an application for smart devices that allows, not only to consult the range of lighting solutions, but also to search for distribution points, projects carried out, comparisons between products or formulate the shopping list, among other functions. The app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
The digitalization of these traditional tools is another step in the commitment reached last December 2015, coinciding with the COP21 Climate Summit in Paris, to reach zero carbon emissions by 2020. Philips Lighting has a strong commitment to the environment and the fight against climate change. For this reason, it presents the largest portfolio of LED solutions on the market, a technology that allows reducing the energy consumption of the facilities by more than 80%.
Considering that 19% of global energy consumption is in lighting, a rapid adoption of LED lighting to renovate existing infrastructures would have a huge impact. That is why more ambitious targets should be set to improve energy efficiency with existing technologies.
In addition to greater environmental respect, the digital tariff presents another series of advantages, such as the constant and rapid updating, both of new products and prices, impossible to achieve with paper. This fact makes it possible to offer updated information to all interested parties. On the other hand, the new rate also allows interactivity, thanks to contact tools, as well as direct access to Philips Lighting's social channels.
