International. Prepared by a consultancy that manages large supermarkets, the text includes good practices adapted to the market and the legislation of each country.
The company Auxideico, provider of consulting services and integral management of shopping centers, presented the Manual of Sustainable Operation of Shopping Centers, created by its parent, ECE Projektmanagement, and adapted to the particularities of the market and Spanish legislation. From this moment, Auxideico will implement the proposals of this manual to improve the sustainability of the shopping centers it manages in Spain.
In collaboration with the Institute of Technology of the University of Karlsruhe, ECE Projektmanagement has drafted a detailed document with proposals for action on sustainability. Each of ECE's subsidiaries, as in the case of Auxideico, follows these guidelines in the shopping centers it manages, in accordance with the regulations in force in each of the countries in which they operate.
The Auxideico Manual includes a series of recommendations, good practices and a system of self-evaluation of the sustainable measures that are being adopted. In this way, the company contemplates an improvement plan whose results can be evaluated at the end of this year.
In recent years, the shopping centers managed by Auxideico have already been recognized with different distinctions for their work that respects the environment, so they have a wide background in aspects related to sustainability, where it is worth mentioning the Certification in ISO 14001 to environmental Management Systems (in nine shopping centers), the ISO 50001 Certification for the Energy Management System (in a shopping center) and the certifications for sustainable building BREEAM in use (in five shopping centers) and LEED EBOM (in a shopping center).
