Sodexo has obtained in Spain the UNE-ISO 55001 certification, which demonstrates that it complies with the requirements established by the standard and makes it the first global services company in this country, which certifies with AENOR this international standard for asset management.
This objective has been achieved through the development of an Asset Management System that is committed to continuous improvement and that provides added value to customers by comprehensively managing the life cycle of assets, maximizing both their long-term value and the efficiency of operations, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of users and customers.
Sodexo has achieved this certification for its asset management in a leading pharmaceutical company in its sector with headquarters, manufacturing and research plant in Alcobendas, Madrid, thus demonstrating its technical capacity when managing its facilities according to the UNE-ISO 55001 Standard. Through 24 standard and global processes, Sodexo professionalizes Facility Management (FM) services by managing and, not only, maintaining its clients' facilities, becoming their strategic partner in asset management.
Since 2014, Sodexo has worked implementing its Asset Management System in the headquarter of this pharmaceutical company, adapting the requirements of UNE-ISO 55001 to the corporate philosophy through processes, procedures and records and turning it into its work methodology.
The UNE-ISO 55001 Standard aims to maintain effective control and management of assets by organizations, as well as to know the value of assets through the management of their risks and opportunities, in order to achieve the desired balance between cost, risks and performance of assets throughout their life cycle. UNE-ISO 55001 follows the High Level structure of the International Management Systems Standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
By being recognized by AENOR with this certification, Sodexo demonstrates that it has the necessary tools and that it controls the existing risks in asset management according to the international standard. It also highlights its expertise in asset management and Facility Management services, helping organizations achieve their strategic objectives, managing the life cycle of assets in an efficient and optimized way.
