Costa Rica. A and A and the Center for Environmental Law and Natural Resources (Cedarena), installed seven solar panel systems in the ASADAS of Paquera and Cóbano to achieve savings in the electricity bill.
These systems will save up to 50% on the electricity bill that these institutions must pay monthly for the pumping of water from the rural aqueduct.
With the installation of photovoltaic systems in rural aqueducts, radiation from the sun is used to generate energy, operate the pump and distribute water to communities.
This initiative is part of the project Reconversion of 15 Associations Administrators of Aqueduct Systems and Sanitary Sewers (ASADAS), which will be extended to eight rural aqueducts in Nicoya.
