Argentina. The councilman from Salta, Gastón Galíndez, reported on the draft ordinance that proposes zero municipal tax for sustainable constructions in the city. The initiative proposes "the modification of the building code that raises the possibility of discussing the construction of buildings with new construction materials, called sustainable constructions," explained the mayor.
Galíndez told local media that the buildings must comply with a series of items to be framed within sustainable constructions, "whether the techniques of green terraces, hermetic glass, the lighting of common or total spaces through solar panels, the use or treatment of gray water, the collection of rainwater or waste treatment through not only differentiated classification but also also the treatment".
Likewise, the councilman said that those citizens of Salta who use some of these sustainable methods in construction, according to the project that is proposed, "will have a benefit of several taxes, such as the Initial Rate on the Right of Construction and a high percentage or a part, depending on how much they comply, of the ordinance of the Real Estate Tax and the General Property Rate. "
Next, Galíndez indicated that in the first instance it is proposed that this type of construction is within a promotional regime for a period of 5 years and then become mandatory for all citizens. "The one who is encouraged to adhere to the norm, in principle, in a promotional regime is given all these benefits, and then it will be mandatory," he said.
The next few days he will meet in the Council with different sectors to discuss the issue.
