The Ministry of Health of Nayarit, in Mexico, certified the headquarters of nine institutions as "Smoke-Free" buildings. This news came in the context of the celebration of World No Tobacco Day.
According to the representative of that ministry, Oscar Villaseñor Anguiano, this is an initiative that is part of the government's general strategy to prevent the harmful habit of smoking. "Governor Roberto Sandoval's concern about this issue is real and not only on World No Tobacco Day, but throughout the year."
The official also indicated that the State Government, CECA, Marakame, DIF and health sector, "work together to protect our present and future generations from the exposure of tobacco smoke and that this addiction will soon be diminished."
The buildings that obtained this recognition are: the Family Justice Center, the establishment specialized in the treatment of addictions "Life and Freedom", the general hospital of the ISSSTE "Dr. Aquiles Calles Ramírez", the State Delegation of the ISSSTE and the Institute Against Addictions Marakame.
