Two South American countries are part of the list of nations with the most buildings certified by the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (Leed) seal: these are Brazil and Chile.
This title allows to recognize those properties that have, either in their construction or in their operation, with characteristics of sustainability and clean energy and environmental performance.
A little more than 300 properties make Brazil the third nation, in the world context, with more buildings certified through this title, this figure contains the projects that have already achieved the seal and those that are in the process of certification.
With a total of 152 constructions certified in Leed, Chile is part of the group of ten Leed countries placing in the tenth position.
17 Chilean constructions already have the certificate and 135 more are waiting to receive it.
The first place in this ranking is occupied by the United Arab Emirates, more than 700 properties, between certified and that are in process, has this exotic country.
In the second position is China with more than 600 buildings. In fourth place is India with about 250 projects, followed by Mexico and Germany with about 200 each, then there is the Republic of Korea with approximately 150 and Saudi Arabia with a little more than 100.
The organization in charge of delivering the seal is the U.S. Green Building Council, which operates non-profit and promotes construction and sustainable development.
