A series of presentations and conferences are being carried out by volunteer firefighters who went through the experiences of the earthquakes of Lorca and Chile where they address the issue of the pathologies of the buildings after an earthquake and the stabilization of them.
During the talks, we talk about the calculations of shoring or the most innovative techniques in the fastening of buildings quickly. In the first instance the course was offered to the team of firefighters of the Group of World Heritage Cities in Spain, who showed their interest in being prepared to act adequately on the issue of stabilization of historic buildings when a tragedy occurs, with the aim of avoiding the collapse of the structure.
The team of professionals were in recent days imparting these teachings to a group of more than 30 firefighters, the course was called "Emergency structural stabilization in historic buildings".
In addition to the theoretical content, the subject was complemented with practical classes on unloading pillars and shoring to guarantee the correct implementation of what was learned and guarantee effectiveness in times of greater emergency.
