Cameras with technology designed for spaces with low lighting

International. Tyco Security Products introduces the new 2-megapixel Illustra Pro minidome cameras, which include the new UltraVision technology to capture high-quality color video in extreme low-light conditions.

Illustra's new UltraVision technology allows the camera to keep color video well below 1 lux. This significantly increases the ability to identify people and objects of interest in environments that are virtually in total darkness. Illustra's UltraVision technology is ideal for applications such as parking lots, alleys, warehouses, and other low-light environments where maintaining color and video quality is critical to surveillance operations. In low-light mode, UltraVision offers the necessary color details so that users can easily locate clear video evidence as part of investigations.

In addition to the UltraVision feature for low-light conditions, the 2 MP Illustra Pro minidome cameras also offer built-in analytics such as motion detection, face detection, blur detection and tampering. To minimize bandwidth usage, storage requirements by optimizing video performance and quality, users can program up to five individual regions of interest to maximize clarity of detail in those specific areas identified as most important.

Available in vandal-resistant and IK-10 rated indoor and outdoor models, the 2 MP Illustra Pro minidome cameras operate in extreme temperatures up to -30°C using standard PoE mains power. Outdoor models are IP66 rated for durability and protection against water and dust damage.

Other features:

  • Automatically increase video quality around people's faces using region of interest intelligence for face  detection
  • Wide dynamic range (96 db) to optimize video in very bright or very dark areas
  • Blur detection intelligence to alert users when the camera's focus needs to be cleaned or adjusted. This way, the camera focus can be adjusted immediately to reduce downtime and maintenance calls.
  • 9-22mm motorized lens option available for installations that require a longer range field of view

"In many security environments, it is extremely important to identify people and objects of interest in extreme low-light conditions," explains Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of Tyco Security Products' Video Line for Latin America. "With the launch of Illustra UltraVision, Tyco Security Products can now offer its customers exceptional color video quality in low-light environments 24/7."

Being compatible with American Dynamics VideoEdge and exacqVision video management system (VMS) software and recorders, Illustra Pro minidome cameras can be easily configured to integrate into a video surveillance system, saving time and installation costs. The camera supports exacqVision Edge, so exacqVision video management software (VMS) can be installed directly on the camera for a comprehensive high-definition IP video solution. In addition, a line of plenum caps and mounting hooks for recessed installations is offered. There are also several mounting options for outdoors and for quick installation in any environment.
