Latin America. Axis Communications launched axis Camera Station 5, the latest version of its video surveillance software for environments with up to 50 cameras. Specific features were incorporated to improve the experience of using axis cameras in facilities such as stores, schools and offices, as well as allow integration with third-party cameras.
The new version of Axis Camera Station features a simplified display mode to display more cameras on a single screen. This interface meets the requirements of high-motion installations, where simultaneous monitoring of multiple live cameras is critical.
The software has gone on to take better advantage of the graphics card of the servers. In practice, you can view, for example, a video stream with 4K resolution using only an Intel i5 processor. As a result, the user has to invest less in servers, reducing the total cost of the project.
The display of 4K images was also optimized through a totally clear representation of the displacement of objects at high speed, even in ultra high definition. Another innovation to facilitate day-to-day operation is the ability to retrieve a recording by searching multiple cameras at the same time, rather than showing only one at a time. It is also possible to view the images on Android and iOS-based mobile devices through a free app.
"Axis Camera Station gained a number of interesting features and capabilities for medium-sized installations. This allows integrators and distributors to offer their customers a complete camera and VMS solution that meets all the expectations of a project of this profile," says Andrei Junqueira, sales manager at Axis Communications.
The new version maintains support for Zipstream technology (for further bandwidth reduction), and 360-degree recordings. Once the installation is completed, the integrator and the user will be able, for the first time, to check the performance of the system through a new tool that simulates the operation in both day and night scenarios, testing the possible bandwidth limitations and guaranteeing optimal operation in the real environment.
Users of older versions of Axis Camera Station with up to 32 devices can upgrade the software at no cost.
