Colombia adopts virtual construction models

Colombia. With the adoption of innovations that have meant constant investments and with double-digit annual percentage growth rates, Arpro Arquitectos Ingenieros S.A., announced the thorough implementation of processes in the management and planning of project construction applying avant-garde methods in the management of document and efficient administration, along with the use of virtual construction models, with which it continues to lead in Colombia the implementation of specialized technologies adapting its use to the local environment, which becomes a benchmark for the national industry.

According to Rodrigo Rubio, Operations Manager, "Since 2015 we began to apply technologies accompanied by international practices and standards of the highest quality developed during the last 5 years, such as efficient construction methods such as "Lean Construction", with which we obtained a union recognition granted by Camacol,  and technological innovations at the service of the environment such as the efficient reuse of materials, the recycling of debris and the conception of low-consumption real estate operations".

The implementation of three-dimensional modeling practices and protocols aimed at Virtual Construction using specialized software is another technological advance of Arpro. Focused on the management of designs and planning of construction processes with cutting-edge technologies, this implementation has allowed the company to conceive, plan and develop highly complex projects efficiently generating a better quality product for customers.

An example of this is the Teleskop project located in Bogotá (http://www.teleskop.com.co/) in which more than 700 problems of system integration in a digital environment were solved.  Without the application of this software, these interferences would have been identified belatedly by conventional methods forcing their resolution during construction.
With the implementation of these innovations that have meant constant investments and with double-digit annual percentage growth rates, Arpro Arquitectos Ingenieros S.A., continues to lead in Colombia the implementation of specialized technologies adapting their use to the local environment, which becomes a benchmark for the national industry.

the Document and Efficient Management, adopted by Arpro, which allows to identify and maintain always the latest version of the construction plans and avoid errors and communicate efficiently with all stakeholders. This innovation was successfully implemented in the ATRIO project that the firm is building in downtown Bogotá, to meet the volume and complexity of information present in the project due to the sophisticated architectural and structural proposal developed by national and international designers of the highest level.

These procedures make it possible to control the different issues of plans and documents by automatically detecting changes between versions, which guarantees the correct use of current plans on site without confusion. Thanks to the success of this innovation, ARPRO S.A. made the decision to implement this document management methodology in all its projects as of 2016.

This large-scale application gave way to the creation of the "Arpro template", which reflects a document management structure adapted to the Colombian environment that becomes the synthesis in the standardization of this process, expanding and deepening the planning of work and promoting higher quality construction processes.
