International. The Innovative Business Group Capacity Control presents the first people counter system officially approved by the Spanish Center of Metrology (www.cem.es).
This system has passed the EU Type Examination in Spain, in a process carried out by the Spanish Metrology Centre as a Metrological Control Body. The Viabox ML1 system allows to know with great precision (error less than 3%) the number of people who are inside an enclosure at all times.
The problem of capacity control has different aspects, among which the one related to security stands out, due to the risk to the integrity of people that can cause exceeding the allowed capacity, being necessary to do it in a verifiable way according to metrologically reliable instruments.
Currently, in Spain there are Autonomous Communities where capacity control is legislated and others in which there is still no specific regulation.
What are the advantages of a people counter?
Among the advantages of using this type of equipment both for safety and for other aspects related to the guarantees of legal compliance and the proper use of public places, it is worth highlighting.
- Know the number of people who are in a public place.
- To be able to verify this compliance reliably up to two years after the event is held (as a tachograph).
- To be able to verify the correct use of the equipment by the owners of the premises or the activity that has an authorized capacity.
- Access to information that is secure and inviolable for the competent authorities.
- Remote monitoring by the property or the competent Authority (in addition to what is legally required).
- In addition to representing an improvement in the management of the facilities, by having reliable information about the people who are in the premises and obtaining other additional advantages to security and guarantee of legal compliance.
