Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Promotora TIIM announced in recent days the debut of the Aloft brand in Cancun, Mexico, one of the Most Desired Caribbean areas by all travelers.
The property is located in the hotel zone, next to the Cancun Convention and Exhibition Center and a stone's throw from restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Aloft Cancun provides travelers with a stylish place at an affordable price, state-of-the-art technology and a vibrant social atmosphere. Aloft has positioned itself as an indispensable brand among young travelers and the following generations, since it has oriented its philosophy towards music, design and technology.
Aloft Cancun offers a totally sensory experience, with 177 loft rooms, which have ceilings almost 3 meters high and extra large windows, creating a bright atmosphere.
"Since its launch, Aloft has emerged as the traveler's popular choice. We are excited to launch the Aloft brand in Cancun, a well-known tourist destination, which is showing growing demand from the meetings and conventions segment," said Osvaldo Librizzi, the company's Co-President for the Americas.
The executive added that this opening is also an important step for Starwood, as it marks its 25th hotel in Mexico and the entry of the eighth brand to the country. In addition, it allows to continue the momentum of the Aloft brand in Latin America.
The Aloft brand debuted in Latin America in 2011, with Aloft Bogotá, followed by Aloft San Jose in Costa Rica. Today there are eight Aloft hotels in operation, under construction or development contracts and in the region including Aloft Panama. In Mexico, Aloft Guadalajara and Aloft Mérida are planned to open next year, while Aloft Asunción and Aloft Montevideo will open their doors in 2015.
The union denounces that the lack of this elevator has an impact on the state of the other elevators, reduces the possibilities of accommodating people, lengthens waiting lines and degrades working conditions.
The last strike at that monument dates back to 2010, and lasted two days.
