The 16-story tower includes 81 new rooms, two swimming pools, a VIP lounge, a Lobby Café, four restaurants and 20 meeting rooms.
"This new tower makes the hotel a major convention center," said Jim Anhut, IHG's head of development for the Americas. "With steady economic growth, a strong commitment to free trade and foreign investment, and the sustained advancement of the tourism industry, Chile is one of South America's most attractive markets for development presentation."
Additionally, for Álvaro Diago, IHG's COO for Latin America and the Caribbean, "the InterContinental Santiago is already recognized for the vertical garden located on the west side of the building, however, the New Club Tower adds a new dimension and raises the bar of excellence in hospitality of the hotel, making it a true milestone of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand."
