The South American country will have an ally to increase its competitiveness in international market tourism: the System for the Qualification of Accommodation Options, which will guide consumers and prepare the country to receive tourists during the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
The system, created by the Ministry of Tourism (MTur) in partnership with the National Institute of Meteorology and Industrial Quality (Inmetro), adopts the stars as a symbol, ranging from one to five, to identify the categories granted to each type of accommodation.
Seven types of venues will be eligible for qualification: hotels, resorts, farm hotels, bed & breakfasts, historic hotels, hostels and aparta hotels.
According to the president of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Board), Mário Moysés, the model adopted by that country observes a world reference standard for service tourism. "With a standardized information reference, foreigners will be able to count on one of the most accurate elements of information when choosing Brazil as their destination."
Hotels in that country that wish to obtain their rating can enter www.cadastur.com.br. where you will find the respective forms to complete the application.
