The hotel group announced the signing of an agreement for the arrival of a hotel from its portfolio on the island of Hatí in an investment of about US$45 million signed in a management agreement with Unigestion Holding, a subsidiary of Digicel Group.
The establishment, which will begin to rise in 2012, will be known by the name of Port-au-Prince Marriott, will be located in Port-au-Prince and will have a total of 173 rooms (5 suites) that will be added to the 500 rooms that already operate in that city. Other services such as restaurant, swimming pool, shop, fitness center and 428 square meters for meetings and events.
In the hotel group they assure that with the creation of this new establishment they will capture more business tourism, possible investors, humanitarian organizations, financial institutions, etc. will be able to stay.
For Arne Sorenson, president of Marriott International, this investment will see long-term results, but will contribute to the development of the Caribbean country by offering employment, investing there and creating human talent.
