RIU Hotels & Resorts has already put into operation the Riu Palace Bavaro, located in the RIU complex in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), with which the hotel chain completes its 34th resort in America.
The hotel had an investment of US $ 80 million, has 610 rooms distributed between the main building and luxurious villas, which will offer Wi-Fi internet within its Suites and Jr. Suites. It also offers a main restaurant and four themed restaurants, a lobby bar with ice cream and pastry shop and a sports bar open 24 hours.
Its recreational areas have four freshwater pools, two with jacuzzi, Spa with sauna, a jacuzzi, a gym and a casino; in addition to a convention center of 1,200 square meters with capacity for up to 1,000 people.
The RIU Punta Cana complex, which includes the Riu Palace Bavaro, Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Palace Macao, Clubhotel Riu Bambu and Riu Naiboa, is located on Playa Arena Gorda, one of the most renowned beaches in the world.
The inauguration of this new hotel (December 2) coincides with the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of RIU's international presence since in November 1991, the chain began its operations outside Spain with the opening of Riu Taino.
