The Iberostar Hotels & Resorts chain officially opened the Iberostar Cancún, a new five-star hotel that adds to the already eight existing establishments in Mexico.
The renovation of the establishment was worth close to US$100 million and was closed in August 2011 to complete the necessary adjustments.
It has 426 rooms and villas equipped with 16 junior suites, four master suites, a presidential suite and two beach suites. The establishment has seven infinity pools integrated into the surroundings of the gardens, a professional football field, two tennis courts, a spa, a gym and a beauty salon, among other services.
A Convention Center of 4,550 m2 of space divisible into 22 meeting rooms, 10,000 m2 of outdoor areas for social events and an 18-hole golf course, complete the spaces of the hotel complex.
The presentation event was attended by Miguel Fluxá, executive president of the group, as well as the advertising image, the actor Antonio Banderas; next to them were Gloria Guevara, Secretary of State for Tourism of the Mexican Government, and Roberto Borge, Governor of the State of Quintana Roo.
