The Spanish hotel chain RIU, continues to bet on the tourism development of Latin America, its most recent incursion into this market includes the investment of US $ 140 million for the opening of the new Riu Palace Peninsula hotel, in the city of Cancun.
In a statement released by the company Luis Riu, CEO of RIU Hotels & Resorts, explained about this initiative that "for us it is another example of the importance that Mexico has in our expansion plans and the quality offer we want to offer in this country".
The property, which will be inaugurated on May 4, will work under the all-inclusive scheme and will have 562 rooms. In addition, it will complement the company's offer by joining the Riu Palace de las Américas, Riu Cancun and Riu Caribe hotels, already present in the destination.
This is in addition to the investments made by the company in other destinations in the region such as Colombia, Panama and the Dominican Republic, which can be considered as a clear indication of the potential for expansion of this market and the importance it currently has for international hotel groups.
