Hotel projects advance in Lima

Avanzan proyectos hoteleros en LimaWith firm plans to begin in 2013 the construction of the hotel that will complement the Gran Terminal Terrestre (GTT) Plaza Norte in Lima, Peru, the first stage of a commercial mall that will house 20 shops and a large food area with ten restaurants began.

As explained by the commercial manager of the GTT, María Mazzi, this shopping plaza will be the starting point for the second stage of the construction of the hotel, which is estimated to be three or four stars, "that will depend on the moment in which the tender is called in 2013, it will be a chain that fits what we need", Assured.

The idea is to look for a concept similar to the one handled at the Jorge Chávez International Airport, where the traveler can find transport and accommodation making very short journeys, an undoubted benefit for any type of tourist, especially for business.

Mazzi offered statements about another project that is being held in the south of the Peruvian capital, the Atocongo terraport; The executive assured that she has not advanced as she would like due to lack of guarantees from the Government in terms of transport safety.

Lima is one of the capital cities of the Latin American countries that has grown the most in recent years in the tourism issue and, consequently, in hotel infrastructure, it is expected that by 2015 it will have an increase of 20% only in the issue of convention tourism.

Currently the city has the capacity to host in its meeting venues and hotels a total of 700,000 participants in conventions.
