With an investment of close to US$40 million, hotel Nikko Mexico has changed its name and launched a three-year remodeling project: it is now called Hyatt Regency Mexico City and will operate under the firm Hyatt Hotels & Resort.
This prestigious establishment, located in Mexico City, will carry out restructuring, design and equipment works mainly in its open spaces and in the areas for events, as well as the lobby, the gym and the spa. At the same time some existing rooms will be remodeled to create new suites, increasing their installed capacity to 40 rooms.
For Myles McGourty, Hyatt's senior vice president for Latin America, "Hyatt Regency Mexico City is an important acquisition for our portfolio and we look forward to bringing authentic Hyatt hospitality to guests and visitors to the famous Mexico City."
Currently the hotel has 756 rooms, including simple and suites overlooking the Chapultepec Forest, Lincoln Park and Polanco Streets. It is located 30 minutes from Mexico City International Airport, Benito Juarez.
Likewise, it has almost 3,000 square meters distributed in 16 rooms for the realization of business, social and corporate events, complementarily the professional staff offers the support services and execution of the contests, so that everything goes as planned.
The general director of the hotel, Kurt Straub, said that "we are acquiring a very distinguished and well-known hotel, as well as highly valued to which we are adding the support of the Hyatt name."
