Recently the company Orient-Express officially announced that it will inaugurate one of its largest projects, it is Palacio Nazarenas, a 55-suite hotel built in the old palace and Convent of the Nazarenas, in the city of Cusco, Peru.
The project, which becomes the organization's sixth establishment on Peruvian soil, had a restoration process that lasted four years and was supervised by the National Institute of Culture (INC).
The hotel is considered within the range of boutique hotels and is composed only of suites. Each room has its own characteristics with colonial touches and original and indigenous art of Peruvian and Inca culture.
It has a view of the Ausangate mountain located in the Andes and the square of San Blas, a prominent district of Cusco.
One of the most particular and privileged places is the Nazarene suite, the space dedicated to the prayer of the Abbess. It boasts a handmade gold ceiling with ornaments of roses and colors that are in line with the range that was used in the rest of the decoration of the hotel.
A peculiarity of this enclosure is that it offers the first outdoor pool in all of Cusco. Likewise, it has a gourmet restaurant that is under the command of the renowned Peruvian chef, Virgilio Martínez.
"Since the company embarked on the recovery of the Venice Simplon Orient-Express in 1978, we have been known for continuing in this line and giving new life to historical and architectural icons. This happened with the rebirth of the Nazarene Palace, becoming an authentic hotel of our brand," said the Regional Managing Director of Orient-Express Peru, Laurent Carrasset.
