The InterContinental Hotels Group hotel chain announced the opening of a new Holiday Inn Express with 108 newly built rooms in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The hotel is located in the heart of the new financial and commercial district of Plaza San Rafael and close to the country's main financial institutions, including BAC Honduras, Banco Davivienda and CABEI (Central American Bank for Economic Integration).
The hotel, which will operate under a franchise agreement under the management of Latin American Hospitality Management S.A., a subsidiary of Grupo Agrisal, is IHG's fifth property in Honduras. In addition, it is the second IHG brand hotel in Tegucigalpa, next to the Real InterContinental Tegucigalpa hotel, and the second Holiday Inn Express in Honduras, next to the Holiday Inn Express San Pedro Sula.
"Bringing the Holiday Inn Express brand to Tegucigalpa is in line with IHG's growth strategy of developing in key cities around the world. Tegucigalpa is the capital and most populous city in Honduras," said Alvaro Diago, COO for Latin America and the Caribbean at IHG. and added that "this is also the fifth project with Grupo Agrisal, our partner of many years, and we aspire to continue developing our solid relationship with them."
The hotel offers an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, complimentary high-speed Internet access, and a business center. Business travelers will find large desks with ergonomic chairs, free local calls. In addition, guests can relax in the rest area of the hotel's Great Hall, and free parking is available, as well as free transportation to the nearby Multiplaza Mall.
