Mexico. For 2017, the Posadas Hotel Group will invest US$515 million dollars in the construction and opening of 42 new properties throughout the Mexican territory, according to the company's CEO. With the above, the Group would be able to increase its lodging capacity by 30% and consolidate itself as one of the most important hotel conglomerates in the Aztec country.
Although this expansion plan requires a significant injection of capital, grupo Posadas, which currently operates 132 hotels in Mexico and one in the United States, will only assume about 20 percent of the $515 million dollars with its own resources while the remaining 80 percent will be contributed by independent partners.
José Carlos Azcárraga, general director of the firm, stressed in statements to local media that most of the rooms that the chain hopes to add correspond to hotels aimed at business travelers.
"The potential that the country has in this model is enormous. It is in this type of hotels where the competitive advantages of Posadas are oriented, "said the manager.
