International. After more than 2,800 hours of dedication and during 18 months of work, the first two professionals accredited with the degree received their diplomas on May 30. The private event took place in the Simón Bolívar room of Casa América (Madrid) and was attended by relevant people from the Facility Management sector, from customers and suppliers, to students, teachers and advisors of the training program.
"The dedication of time and resources to specific training in Facility Management will provide professionals in the sector with the skills and abilities to achieve the recognition they deserve within organizations, while providing them with better models and ways to deal with this key aspect for the proper functioning of companies. Being able to teach online allows us to reach those who until now have been deprived of this type of training".
The event was opened by David Martínez, General Director of FMHOUSE, who stressed "the importance of professionalizing the discipline and providing good knowledge to professionals in the sector". At the table were Cristina Vázquez, Director of the FMHOUSE Institute and Sergio Vega, member of the academic council and director of FM programs at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Martínez highlighted how "the origin of these programs was the demand of the sector itself, not being able to face the demands of the market with face-to-face training, especially from Spanish-speaking countries in America."

Vega recalled that the upM face-to-face Master that takes place in Madrid is still open, although they will soon launch their online version in collaboration with the FMHOUSE institute.
It was also cited that "the new collaboration agreements to continue working on the development of Facility Management in Spain and Latin America, work that we have been developing for many years helping to create associations and training their professionals with them," said Martínez.
The titles were collected by Fernando Peralta, Head of General Services & Real Estate at Thales and Rafael Dantas, Area Manager of Iberdrola Spain. Both highlighted the hard and demanding of the program, but the very high quality of the contents, the orientation to the discipline in each of its aspects and the support received by the team members of the FMHOSE Institute.
