Mexico. During Expo CIAHC 2018, held at the Citibanamex Center, in Mexico City, the Congress was held: The Construction Summit, Resilient and Smart Cities, in this two-day business program, designed for professionals in the construction industry, experts talked about construction trends and the challenges it faces.
One of the participants was the KNX Home Automation Standard, who made the panel of experts called: Control Technologies for Resilient Buildings, the moderator was the Coordinator of KNX Mexico, Eng. Maribel Pacheco Ramos; the Technical Director of SCHINDLER Elevators, Eng. Alberto Marín Gómez; the Manager of the ESTEVEZ Lighting and Automation Business Unit, Ricardo Soto; and the Building Automation Produc Marketing Manager of ABB Mexico, Eng. Guillermo Bribiesca Vadillo.
During the panel, the various technologies that make up an intelligent building that allow detecting adversities such as gas leaks, floods and light shorts, among others, were discussed.
In the case of elevators, it was said that there are sensors that measure emergencies such as earthquakes and fires; interfaces and controls are linked and allow building managers or security officers to vacate them.
These technologies offer security in operations, unfortunately many of them do not have the proper programming and the equipment is wasted, they work with the basic programming.
The experts considered that with new technologies it is necessary to take advantage of rainwater to recycle it and use it in building services. What is sought in new constructions are efficient green technologies that help save energy. They stressed that efficiency in buildings allows for long-term vision, with safety as the main pillar.
Those who invest in construction systems must trust that the technology will remain in force for a long time.
