With the ISO/IEC 30141 Internet of Things (IoT) - Reference Architecture standard, ISO has created a common framework for all designers and developers of IoT applications, ensuring the development of different reliable, protected, privacy-preserving systems that are capable of facing interruptions as a result of catastrophes or cyberattacks.
This international standard provides an internationally standardized IoT reference architecture that uses a common vocabulary, reusable designs, and industry best practices.
The bodies that have participated in the development of the ISO/IEC 30141 standard have been the joint technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission: ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information Technology; subcommittee SC 41: Internet of Things and related technologies.
Likewise, the ISO/IEC working group is immersed in the development of future standards such as the one that will establish the application framework for the energy management of the demand of industrial facilities or the network of sensors for wireless gas meters, among others.
