Nh Hoteles' environmental project continues to add establishments.The NH San Pedro, in Marbella, Spain, carried out a refurbishment to adapt to sustainable standards and become an eco-responsible hotel.
The renovation of the hotel included the installation of new solar panels, thermal insulation, renovation of the heating installations, lighting controls, among others.
The solar panels will help the NH San Pedro take advantage of the energy of the sun, for this purpose 36 square meters of these were installed on the roof for the production of hot water.
In order to reduce the consumption of fuels and diesel for heating and prevent heat leaks, the water tanks were replaced and the pipe network was renovated, in addition the facades were reformed with new insulating materials, which optimize energy costs in air conditioning.
The lamps and incandescent bulbs were replaced by a low-power lighting system and a light control solution with timers and presence sensors was installed.
Additionally, a waste organization and recycling system was implemented, as well as a continuous training plan for employees in environmental education.
