New strategies based on using resources to be more competitive, that is, doing more with less, are those that will be able to guarantee the growth of hotel establishments from 2010, according to the study Invent the future: the new normal for hotels in 2010 and beyond ( Invent the future: the new normal for hotels from 2010), presented by Amadeus, and conducted by Hospitality Technology Consulting. The changes of the last decade create a new environment that mark the growth of hotels in the next 10 years, within this, four areas will be decisive such as customer experience, globalization, brand value and agility when presenting new products and services.
Jérôme Destors, Director of Hotel IT at Amadeus, commented that 2010 will be a year of transformation for hotels, as well as for the technology sector applied to this area. Regarding the study, he explained that it was carried out in order to better understand the strategic business problems faced by hoteliers. "Technology has to be at the service of the business, we are focusing our efforts on providing hotels with the tools they need to capitalize on brand value in all global operations, to support them in their international expansion and to transform the customer experience," he said.
Another of the conclusions given by the study is that due to the crisis, hoteliers must review their commercial strategy and reconsider all aspects of their business, taking into account that the industry will not return to what it was. Technology, changes and market trends are some of the factors that must be taken advantage of by hotels to grow in this decade.
