The legendary Hotel Nikko located in the Mexican capital, will be called Hyatt Regency Mexico City, this after the purchase and subsequent renovation by Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Seteve Haggerty, global head of real estate and development of this chain, announced that the purchase was made for a value of US $ 190 million; in addition, another US $ 40 million will be invested in the building in its renovation to "strengthen the competitive position of the hotel," says the executive.
This investment is due to the growth plans that the chain has been carrying out in recent years, in 2011 for example, the brand opened more than 40 hotels around the world.
The hotel that is located in the Polanco neighborhood in Campos Eliseos will have 734 rooms after combining some of the existing rooms into suites.
This acquisition would become Hyatt's fourth branch in Mexico, as it currently has those in Cancun, Merida and Villahermosa.
