The French hotel group Accor proliferates more and more in the region, this time announcing the acquisition of 29 hotels in South America, 14 of them in the project with the Posadas Group, which was defined in a total of US $ 275 million.
Likewise, the group that owns Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel and Mercure, acquired the Caesar Park and Caesar Business brands, in the hands of Grupo Posadas, an operation that should be closed before the end of the year.
Accor thus reinforces its presence in Brazil, where 11 of the 15 hotels acquired in operation are located, ahead of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
Of the 15 operating hotels acquired, 4 will be owned, 4 rented and 7 through the so-called management contract. Among other places, the hotels are located in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.
