Every day small hotels in the Central American region are gaining more ground. It is currently presumed that at least 8,000 rooms of this category operate in this area.
The figure was announced at the last Central American Forum of Small Hotels, which was held in Guatemala.
According to experts in the sector, the success of this type of business is due to the possibility they have to treat their guests in a personalized, familiar and exclusive way.
During the meeting that takes place annually, the challenges and opportunities that arise in this segment in the context of current tourism were taken into consideration.
In the same way, the participants of the event opened a space to unify criteria about the type of service that tourists, both national and foreign, expect from establishments like these, taking into account that the level of attention to the user is their ace up their sleeve against the competition.
In addition to the various announcements and dissertations, the new board of the Association of Small Hotels of Central America was put into possession. The Panamanian Armando Rodríguez went on to occupy the presidency of the union organization and in the secretariat the Honduran Dina Núñez was appointed.
