Peru. With an investment that exceeded US $ 4 million and after 18 months of construction, the Peruvian chain Casa Andina opened its first hotel in Machu Picchu.
"Casa Andina Classic Machu Picchu, offers a strategic location in Aguas Calientes, complementing the offer of Casa Andina in the southern zone that already has five hotels in the city of Cusco and one in the Sacred Valley," said Juan Stoessel, general manager of Casa Andina. The hotel overlooks the Vilcanota River, 53 rooms and a restaurant.
"We are very happy to inaugurate this new hotel. We continue to bet on tourism, as it is a fundamental part of Peru's economic growth. During 2013, Casa Andina received 318,880 guests and we have surely been among the two chains with the best turnover in the country. We have set as a goal a development and expansion plan for the next five years, by which we will seek to triple the size of the chain in number of rooms and turnover," said Stoessel, who added that Casa Andina is working on projects in Trujillo, Pucallpa, Tacna and Moquegua.
The Casa Andina chain belongs to the Intercorp group.
