Colombia. Chilean real estate company Fundamenta released details of its expansion plans in the region. After consolidating in his native country and starting operations in Lima, Peru during 2013, the company now aims to venture into the Colombian market, according to information released by Pablo Medina, general manager of the company.
In his statements to the Chilean portal Diario Financiero, Medina said that "we already have links with local companies to enter Bogotá. Unlike Lima, where we started from scratch setting up our own office, the idea in Colombia is to be more aggressive and buy a construction-real estate company."
The company plans to complete this acquisition in 2017 and to commercialize between six and eight projects per year. Beyond future plans, the company also reported positive growth figures during 2014, with a turnover of US$122 million and a growth rate of 20%.
In addition, for 2015, Fundamenta will make investments close to US$40 million in Chile and about US$8 million in Lima.
