Latin America. New work trends such as video conferencing, working from home, mobile connections, among others, are causing telecommunications expenses in organizations to increase at an average level of 10 to 15% per year. That is why it is important to know how to optimize the use of this item.
In addition, billing errors represent companies about 30% of cost overrun in this service, according to data collected by the company Teamnet, a specialist in business expense management.
Taking into account the above, this same company made some recommendations that different organizations can take into account when managing the contracting, operation and billing of telecommunications services.
The first recommendation is to periodically review the voice and data bill, as there may be mismatches or errors that increase the cost of it. Additionally, rates must be negotiated with operators from time to time. If the company's consumption increases or decreases this will be a negotiation tool.
Within the company, it is important to keep the inventory of equipment updated and know for sure which lines or terminals are being used and which are not. This way you can detect if you are paying unnecessarily for a line that is not used.
In the same sense, analyzing the degree of use of each line allows to detect if there are underused lines. In the same way, the consumption of each line must be known and associated with each of the members of the organizational structure to make the distribution of costs by business units or projects.
Finally, a fundamental aspect is to control and analyze compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) signed with operators to ensure the quality of services and compliance with all established agreements.
