International. The renowned real estate firm Jones Lang Laselle (JLL) announced its expansion plans in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, especially in the field of hospitality. To accompany this initiative, the company also appointed Xander Nijnens as Head of Hotels and Hospitality for the region.
As explained by the company, with this move they hope to capitalize with their experience the large number of opportunities existing in this region in the field of real estate that are still unexplored.
Nijnens, who is an expert in the regional industry, will focus on offering sector-specific advice in sub-Saharan Africa and will work from Johannesburg. He will serve in partnership with Mark Bradford, JLL's regional president for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Nijnens will support clients in a range of services including strategic consulting, transactional advice, corporate structuring, operator selection, management contract negotiations, feasibility studies and asset management.
Faced with the possibilities offered by this initiative, Nijnens pointed out "Sub-Saharan Africa is an exciting and emerging region for the hospitality industry. By establishing a presence in this region, we aim to facilitate cross-border cooperation of capital flows into the sector and assist in attracting investment in the region for our global and regional clients."
