International. The Foundation for Energy Efficiency of the Valencian Community, F2e, and the BP Chair of Energy Saving and Efficiency of the UJI incorporate a new training proposal to the portal mooc.uji.es, the platform of massive open courses (mooc) of the Universitat Jaume I.
The registration period for this course, entitled "Energy efficiency in lighting installations", is open until November 29, 2015. It is aimed at people with basic knowledge of electricity and electrical installations and aims to help students learn to design lighting installations taking into account energy efficiency criteria, as well as to carry out energy audits of lighting installations and to select the appropriate control system to optimize the consumption of electrical energy. To do this, the course is divided into three parts, the first on basic lighting concepts, the second on the design of interior lighting installations and the third focused on the design of public lighting installations.
The course will be taught by José Luis Gandía, industrial engineer from the Universitat Jaume I and manager of the F2e Foundation; Héctor Beltrán, professor of Electrical Engineering at the Universitat Jaume I, and head of lighting and renewable energies at F2e; and Enrique Belenguer, also professor of Electrical Engineering at the Universitat Jaume I, director of the BP Chair of Energy Saving and Efficiency and director of R&D at F2e.
This action is in addition to the four educational proposals launched in mooc.uji.es following the trend of North American universities to open courses around the world through the Internet. In this way, the UJI continues its commitment to an intensive and cutting-edge use of new information and communication technologies and strengthens its commitment to free knowledge contained in its Statutes.
The Foundation for Energy Efficiency of the Valencian Community, of which BP, the City Council of Castellón and the Jaume I University are patrons, aims to promote action in the field of energy efficiency through training, social awareness, support for the development of business initiatives and promotion of innovation projects. Located in Castellón, f2e thus combines the efforts of the private, public and academic spheres.
