Colombia. SAP highlighted Colombia as one of the most relevant countries for the continent's market. In the last three years the number of employees increased by 35% and currently reaches more than 260 direct collaborators, a growth that led the company to expand its offices in 2014.
Francisco Reyes, SAP President for the North Latin America region, said: "SAP views Latin America, and especially Colombia, as a growing market and is committed to long-term projects and strategic investments. The financial strength of the subsidiary, its plans and investments are optimistic and positive. Our assets in the country as well as globally are a backup and guarantee for our customers and business partners, in all markets, industries and segments."
The German technology company, in addition, invests heavily in the country since it began its operations. It has offices in Bogotá, Medellín and Cali and an ecosystem made up of more than 80 business partners. In fact, this week it presented its logo in the Tierra Firme business tower, located in Usaquén, and from now on the company will be part of the big brands that are a geographical reference point in the city.
SAP Colombia is a wholly owned subsidiary of SAP SE, which is the sole shareholder of the company. SAP SE's market capitalization is above $80 billion and it is among the most valuable brands according to the prestigious Forbes ranking. SAP SE closed 2014 with revenues of €17.6 billion and posted profits of €4.3 billion.
"The commitment in the country has always been to grow hand in hand with our business partners, who are mostly Colombian companies that have trusted for almost two decades in the support, solidity and transparency of the company," said Reyes.
