After the merger of Lafarge and Holcim, the fifth forum of initiatives of the former Holcim Foundation will be renamed 'LafargeHolcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction', from which progress will be made in sustainable responses to technological, environmental, socio-economic and cultural issues affecting construction.
Among its activities, it has been announced that the call for the 5th LafargeHolcim International Awards for sustainable construction projects and visions will open in July 2016. For its part, the 5th Forum will take place in Detroit, USA. USA, under the theme 'Infrastructure Space', in April 2016.
The three-day academic event includes keynote lectures by renowned experts, and four simultaneous workshops that foster debates on topics such as the absorption of contemporary technologies, toolkits for urban infrastructure, the politics of environmental ecology, and the exploration of urbanization patterns around the world.
