Peru. The service company Sodexo Peru continues to bet, thanks to the fact that it sees great potential, on its facility management line. This service, which constitutes the management of buildings and facilities, is responsible for its corporate sector being the one that has grown the most in the last year.
"Every day companies outsource more facilities management services. I mean Sodexo manages your facility, factory or building chain. Everything that is the 'backoffice' or basic maintenance. That's where more growth is coming," explained Alfredo García Pye, general manager of the company.
Thanks to this offer of multiple services, the corporate sector grew by more than 20%. However, the bulk of the company's income still comes from its remote sector or mining camps.
The management of buildings and services is a relatively new discipline with much to explore in Peru but already established in other parts of the world. The company, known mainly for its food services, seeks to integrate its services because it sees in this line a strong demand still unsatisfied. "The food sector has become a commodity while the facilities management sector is more of a qualitative issue," said the executive.
