Mexico. The departmental capital of León will have a private investment of US $ 16 million this year, destined for a modern shopping center that will be built in an area of 19 blocks in the old Gurdián gin, on Debayle Avenue and will provide more than 400 sources of jobs.
The first stage of construction of the work began on November 15 of the previous year, it will be called Paseo Real Shopping Center and will consist of an area of shops and services, supermarket, banks, restaurants, pharmacies, shops, children's and sports play area, as well as a large parking lot, according to Lytton Cano, general manager of Inversiones Plaza León S.A., and owner of the project.
Cano said that the initial investment amounts to US$8.5 million at the construction level and the companies that will be installed project an investment in installation expenses, equipment and merchandise in the order of US$7.5 resulting in a total investment of US$16 million.
"It is a strong investment that will strengthen and increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of León in 2016, in addition there will be an increase in the generation and collection of taxes for the benefit of social and infrastructure projects of the municipality and government entities," said Cano, who confirmed that the work is being executed by Carrión Cruz Construcciones and that the second stage of the project contemplates an investment of US $ 7 million.
The representative of this project added that the Paseo Real Shopping Center is expected to open its doors to the public on October 15 of this year.
The business area is 13,000 square meters, of which there will be a covered Mall with shops, supermarket and cinemas, as well as a sports area of 2,500 square meters with a snack bar. The best brands, businesses and franchises will be present predicting a success for the shopping center and a socioeconomic benefit for the city of León.
