International. The hospital has achieved a saving of 57,000 Kwh, equivalent in euros to just over 6,000, almost 3% of annual consumption.
The Hospital La Luz in Madrid, integrated into the Quirónsalud group, has obtained the ISO 50001 Certification for its environmental protection policy, initiated in 2013, which according to local media, thanks to which the hospital center has achieved a saving of 57,000 Kwh.
ISO 50001 is the standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), responsible for improving the energy management system, including energy efficiency and safety, as well as energy use and consumption.
On the occasion of World Energy Saving Day, La Luz Hospital launched in 2013 an environmental protection policy that involved adopting a series of much more efficient energy management measures. The reduction of energy consumption is associated with a reduction in the amount of CO2 particles emitted, which means a high preservation of the environment, a matter in which the health center is also certified.
The architect of all this is Fernando de Felipe, Industrial Technical Engineer, with more than 17 years of experience in the sector and 14 years at La Luz Hospital as director of Maintenance and Electromedicine. De Felipe is also responsible for waste management and implementation of ISO 14.001.
