Panama. Manuel Vásquez, from the National Secretariat of Energy (SNE) made a presentation of the Action Plan-JICA, at a meeting organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the aim of evaluating the results of the training received as a fellow in Japan.
The activity was attended by seven 2016 alumni, who briefly presented their projects, achievements and progress.
Vásquez presented the topic 'Planning of energy efficiency and saving policies', one of the goals that the SNE has set for this five-year period. 'It is necessary to raise awareness among the population, so that they save energy, saving is the key; it is useless to buy the most efficient equipment if we do not put it to good use," Vásquez said.
Currently, the SNE leads different projects with a view to reducing the carbon footprint in Panama, in order to avoid the negative impact of climate change to the greatest extent possible.
