International. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published five parts of the series of international standards, IEC 63044, on home and building automation systems.
AFME (Association of Electrical Equipment Manufacturers) coordinated the drafting of these standards, with the participation of more than 30 experts from 12 countries. The group began its work at the beginning of 2014, and in just 3 years the first parts of the standard have been published.
More than 30 experts from countries participated in the working group on drafting these standards, coordinated by AFME.
The published parts focus on the electrical safety and electrical compatibility requirements and tests that these systems must meet.
In Europe, the use of these standards provides a presumption of conformity with the Low Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directives.
The group will continue its work with the functional safety, environmental conditions and installation parts.
