Mexico. The Mexican Institute of Smart Building (IMEI) awarded the Parques Bancomer building the IMEI National Award as the best smart and sustainable building of 2016 in the Corporate Buildings category.
The financial institution reported that this award recognizes its high standards in the use of technologies that are reflected in energy efficiency and rational use of non-renewable resources for its optimal functioning and respect for the environment, in addition to offering its employees excellent conditions of safety and comfort.
The Parques Bancomer building qualified in the categories of architecture and civil engineering, electromechanical installations, special facilities, operation and maintenance, as well as sustainability and energy efficiency, he said in a statement.
Bbva Bancomer's vice president and general manager, Eduardo Osuna Osuna, said that the corporate headquarters meet very important objectives for the financial institution that have been brewing for more than a year.
The property was designed by the firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) and was built with an investment of 350 million dollars; It has capacity for 4,560 employees, a height of 132 meters, 30 levels, nine basements and a helipad.
It has 6,780 square meters of land, 70 thousand 335 square meters of offices; It has 14 levels of parking and 2,332 places for cars and 68 for bicycles, 31 elevators, an auditorium for 300 people and dining room for 900 diners, he said.
The building has green areas, as well as recreational areas for employees. It is a building with international LEED Gold certification. Its double glazed façade allows you to take advantage of 70 percent of the natural light; the saving of 40 percent of water is possible thanks to a wastewater treatment process system that allows not to generate discharges to the drainage network.
