Colombia. The measures of the Law contained in Decree 2143 of November 4, 2016, and which began to take effect last year, provide tax incentives for the different renewable energy projects that are implemented in the country.
In this way, and once the requirements are met, those who carry out generation projects with this type of alternatives will be able to make effective an income tax deduction of 50% of the investments for a period of five years.
In addition, an accelerated depreciation of assets will be applied to five years, they will be exempt from VAT and the exemption from the tariff tax is also contemplated, seeking that companies obtain enormous benefits that help them to have a significant reduction in costs in the investment made.
There are several photovoltaic solar energy solutions connected to the electricity grid, that is, if a building has electrical energy but wants to put solar panels to reduce energy costs, it installs them and connects them to that network, generating solar energy during the day and at night consuming the utility company's network.
