Colombia. Hogaru, the digital platform that links domestic workers who work for days for offices and homes, was selected as the most innovative startup in Colombia by Spain Startup and the accelerator of the Spanish Telefónica Wayra.
After being selected, this company will represent the country at the South Summit 2017 event, the global platform that will bring together from October 4 to 6 in Madrid (Spain) the key players of the entrepreneurial ecosystem from around the world.
In just four years, this event has become the leading innovation meeting with 12,500 attendees from more than 100 nationalities, 650 investors, 160 companies and more than US $ 900 million raised by its finalist startups.
"Colombia is the second country with the most startups applying to South Summit after Spain, there is a lot of talent here," said the founder and executive director of Spain Startup, María Benjumea, after the nomination of Hogaru.
This time the Colombian representation will be borne by Hogaru, which had to compete with the 9 of the best ventures in the country shortlisted among more than 200 proposals.
Now, and thanks to this nomination, Hogaru will have the possibility to expose its venture to a large network of investors of South Summit 2017 that is waiting for the businesses that are presented there.
Hogaru identified the need that the market had and therefore created a solution that would allow the end customer to hire a professional cleaning service with all the benefits paid, when and where they need it.
The managers of the company explain that unlike an "employee agency", the service they provide is reliable, quality and worry-free for the end user.
"Technology plays a fundamental role for our business in two aspects: it allows the end user to book, pay and evaluate the service they receive electronically and simply, and at the same time allows the company to efficiently manage all the processes of supervision and personnel direction," they told Dinero.
Currently, Hogaru has almost 500 payroll cleaning professionals and operates in Bogotá, Cali and Medellín, performing more than 80,000 hours of cleaning per month One of the objectives is to become the largest and most efficient facility management company in the region, create 100,000 good direct jobs and expand to 5 or 6 countries in Latin America in the next 10 years.
