International hotel brand Marriott recently launched its Mobile Check-in app available on Google Play. The tool will work for the brand's 325 stores in the United States.
Taking advantage of the fact that 80% of people between the ages of 24 and 36 in the United States make use of their smartphones for most purchases, Marriott presents this new application in order to attract this type of users.
The interface and execution of the Marriott Hotel Mobile App Check-in is simple and can be used by Marriott Rewards members by checking in after 4:00 p.m. the day before arrival, after which the guest will receive an automatic notification confirming check-in.
Because the user's credit card information is stored in the user's profile in the Marriott Rewards program, the guest only has to present the screen of their mobile with the billing at the hotel counter and, thus, they can enter quickly.
The app is free and can be downloaded from Apple's iTunes Store and Android's Google Play.
As explained by Paul Cahill, senior vice president of Brand Management at Marriott Hotels, during the development of the application there was a trial period in which users were involved by asking for their comments and suggestions in order to refine the tool and know the priorities of the guest.
"Our frequent customers told us that check-in functionality through their smartphones was revolutionary," Cahill said.
