More than 2,000 hotel employees will be able to access about 129 training courses that will be offered by the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje de Colombia (Sena) and the Hotel and Tourism Association of Colombia (Cotelco).
The initiative is in the structuring phase of the work plan. According to Juan Leonardo Correa, president of the Association and Luis Alfonso Hoyos, general director of the Seine, the most appropriate education processes are being evaluated.
This process has brought excellent results in favor of the development of the sector through innovation initiatives to improve the competitiveness of the industry, as has been demonstrated in similar projects in the country.
On the other hand, Colombian hoteliers have expressed their interest in becoming certified in the prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (Escnna). In the month of June 15 establishments obtained this seal called The Code.
"The training undertaken resulted in a total of 863 workers in the tourism sector sensitized to this serious problem," said Luis Fernando Rosas Londoño, Director of the District Tourism Institute (IDT), an entity that together with the Renacer Foundation and UNICEF, leads this initiative.
