According to the municipal secretary of Tourism of the town of Morelia, in Mexico, Enrique Rivera, a project has been undertaken with which it seeks to make the colonial buildings of the center of that city self-sustainable.
In that sense, the authority affirmed that it is in dialogue with the National Government so that this goal is possible.
Taking into account that in Morelia there are 130 buildings declared by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, the intention is to preserve these properties for the enjoyment of future generations.
To give an example of what is intended, Rivera spoke of the Tron building located on Heroes de Nocupétaro Avenue, which from its design was designed to be intelligent and sustainable: it has its own water treatment mechanism and electric power generators.
The official explained that we must see in the tourism of congresses and events another opportunity to increase the number of self-sustaining buildings in the center of Morelia.
"Events such as the Tourism Fair that was held in September at the Clavijero Palace to, with strict regulations, be able to generate profit for the property and can have this maintenance," proposed Enrique Rivera.
The Secretary of Tourism of Morelia advanced about the meetings he has held with the Ministry of Urban Development with the idea of generating this change in a planned way.
